COURSE SYNOPSIS
This workshop will introduce the revised Washington Accord’s Programme Outcomes with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as prescribed in the Graduate Attributes & Professional Competencies version 4 – June 2021 (GAPC v4 2021). It describes the changes and revisions to the Washington Accord's Knowledge Profile (WK), Programme Outcomes (WA/PO), Complex Engineering Problem Solving (WP) and Complex Engineering Activities (EA); as well as addressing any gaps that may have arisen. The revised relationship between WK, WP, EA and WA/PO will be discussed. Examples of closing these gaps will be shared and discussed in order to minimize their impacts on programme management, teaching, and learning.

IR. DR. SITI HAWA HAMZAH
IR. DR. LIEW CHIA PAO
IR. DR HASRIL HASINI
- Ir. Dr. Siti Hawa is currently the IEM Vice President.
- She is a retired Professor in Civil and Structural Engineering from UiTM Shah Alam with 33 years of experience.
- She is the former Director of the Engineering Accreditation Department, BEM (2020-2022) and was the EAC Associate Director, BEM (2014-2020).
- She specialises in load bearing wall panel structures and engineering education.
- She made impactful contributions to Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Qatar on OBE and quality assurance; being a mentor to BAETE-IEB and a WA reviewer to HKIE and ECUK.
- Dr. Siti published 15 books in structural engine.
IR. DR. LIEW CHIA PAO
- Ir. Dr. Liew is the Assistant Dean (Quality Assurance) of the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering at Xiamen University Malaysia.
- He also serves as the current Associate Director of the Engineering Technology Accreditation Council (ETAC) and was previously the Associate Director of the Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC) from 2016 to 2020.
- Since 2012, he has been involved in the enhancement and accreditation of engineering degrees, engineering technology degrees, and engineering diploma programmes internationally and locally as head of delegations, advisor, external examiner, and speaker in some institutions of higher learning.
- He has over 13 years of teaching and academic experience, and managing engineering programmes as well as 12 years of industry experience. His research interests include engineering education, wireless communication, and supercapacitor applications.
IR. DR HASRIL HASINI
- Ir. Dr. Hasril is currently an Associate Prof. and Deputy Dean (Academic & International) at College of Engineering, Universiti Tenaga Nasional.
- He also serves as an Associate Director (Mechanical) for the Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC), Board of Engineers Malaysia.
- He is a review panel for Washington Accord, having reviewed the Myanmar Engineering Council (MEC), the American Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) and recently the Philippine Technological Council (PTC) for full signatory of Washington Accord.
- He mentors the Engineering Board Kenya (EBK) in their attempt to be a signatory of Washington Accord.
- He is currently the President for the ASEAN QA Association and a committee member for IEM Mechanical Engineering Technical Division.
- He has more than 20 years’ experience teaching and research, with more than 10 years’ experience in academic management and accreditation.
- His research areas cover engineering education and CFD development and application in energy and power generation sectors, with recent work focused on the investigation of viability of adopting carbon-free fuels such as hydrogen and ammonia in gas turbine combustors and boilers.
