Basic concepts of Professionalism are universal to all vocations claiming to professional status. These concepts are codified in society (legally and socially) under public and fiduciary duty-of-care. While the first part of this workshop should be mandatory for all engineers aspiring to P.Eng status, the 2 nd part of this workshop focus on Engineers preparing to sit for the PCE common-paper.

Professionalism is not just C o d e o f C o n d u c t Basic concepts of professionalism for the practicing engineers are mandatory knowledge required of all engineers aspiring to P.Eng. status and Practice Certificate under the Board of Engineers Malaysia.

Core knowledge essential for the submitting engineer (all categories) in the building and construction industry. “Practice Certificate” for submitting engineers under the “Streets, Drainage & Building Act” is a 2nd tier registration under the “Registration of Engineers (Amendment) Act 2014”. This 2 days workshop aims at a basic understanding of core concepts of Professionalism for all categories of engineers and would be helpful for engineers preparing to sit for the PAE interview under IEM and ‘common paper’ under BEM’s PCE. This workshop is also suitable for all categories of engineers with interest in or professional aspiration in the building and construction industry, including academia, and building practitioners. Senior engineers (already P.Eng) may also benefit from this workshop as a ‘refresher’ on current knowledge-set for practitioners in the building and construction industry.
