INTRODUCTION

The course serves as an introduction to the most effective and widely used Gross Pollutant Trap (GPT) that uses the Continuous Deflective Separation (CDS) Technology for stormwater quality improvement. The CDS Technology is an innovative screening technology for the separation of solids, sediment, and oil and grease from the stream of polluted water.

The course will consist of short lectures conducted by our senior managers/engineers, and will cover the fundamental topics as listed below:

  1. Introduction to the concept of closing the Stormwater Loop
  2. Introduction on how to retrofit and upgrade existing aging stormwater infrastructure into smart stormwater treatment system in order to improve water quality and help to mitigate flash flood
  3. Introduction to the Continuous Deflective Separation (CDS) Technology
  4. Integration of CDS Technology into urban stormwater management
  5. Eco-Bio system including the evolution of CDS Technology for various applications of water treatment

By the end of the course, the participants will be able to apply the newly acquired knowledge in stormwater and wastewater treatment including sound environmental engineering practices. Participants will also be able to apply the CDS Technology for use in any urban drainage system, hence addressing the issue of water pollution.
