Course Overview
This technical talk focuses on how engineers can specify environmentally responsible or "Green" concrete in accordance with EN 206. Participants will gain a practical understanding of how the standard supports sustainability through performance-based approaches, Limits on cement content and use of supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) such as fly ash, slag and silica fume. The session also highlights the importance of proper specification , production control and compliance documentation to ensure durability, performance and reduced carbon footprint in line with modern construction demands.

Our Speaker
Dr Yeo Shih Horng is a concrete specialist with strong expertise in concrete mix design. He holds a PhD in civil engineering from the University of Malaya and has 12 Years of experience designing high-performance and cost-effective concrete mixes for various applications.
His work includes ultra-high performance concrete, high early strength mixes, low-heat concrete and fibre-reinforced concrete. He has successfully developed mix designs for challenging environments and has helped achieved strengths like 35 MPa in 16 hours with low carbon footprint concrete.
As the founder of YSH Concrete Technology Sdn Bhd, Dr Yeo has provided mix design solutions for projects in Malaysia, Singapore and China, combining lab research with on-site performance and practical troubleshooting.
His work includes ultra-high performance concrete, high early strength mixes, low-heat concrete and fibre-reinforced concrete. He has successfully developed mix designs for challenging environments and has helped achieved strengths like 35 MPa in 16 hours with low carbon footprint concrete.
