Course Overview
The Concrete Forensic Class: Practical Investigation for Engineers is a focused and hands-on training session designed to equip engineers with essential knowledge and investigative skills to diagnose and resolve concrete-related issues effectively.
This course introduces participants to the fundamentals of concrete forensics, explores the root causes of structural and durability failures, and provides practical training on site-based investigation techniques. Real case studies will be analysed in detail to bridge the gap between theory and field application, empowering participants to confidently identify problems, interpret test data and recommend actionable solutions.

Objective
- Understand why concrete forensic investigation is important in construction
- Recognise common types of concrete failures and their causes
- Learn how poor materials or workmanship can lead to problems like cracks and defects
- Use basic tools and tests to investigate concrete issues on site
- Study real project cases to see how problems were found and solved
- Understand how to collect and understand test results (e.g. strength, durability, corrosion)
