OVERVIEW

SYNOPSIS
This program is developed for technicians, engineers, and energy managers involved in facility management and focused on energy-saving activities. As part of the EECA (Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act) requirements, energy managers must develop energy-saving measures for electric motor systems such as pumps, fans and compressors. This course is designed to provide comprehensive information on what facility management personnel should know about energy efficiency when dealing with electric motor systems, including pumps, fans and others. Case studies based on actual motor systems are included and participants will learn to identify energy-saving measures for those selected systems.

LEARNING OUTCOME
By the end of this program, participants will be able to:
  • Explain the fundamentals of energy efficiency related to electric motor systems used in facility management
  • Identify major energy-consuming components in motor-driven systems such as pumps, fans and compressors
  • Evaluate system performance using key electrical and mechanical parameters including load profile, power factor, harmonies and system efficiency
  • Conduct basic energy assessment for motor-driven systems and identify potential areas for improvement
  • Propose practical energy-saving measures aligned with EECA (Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act) requirements.
  • Analyze case studies of real industrial motor systems and derive feasible energy-saving opportunities.
  • Select appropriate technologies such as VFDs, high-efficiency motors and control strategies for energy optimization
  • Estimate potential energy and cost savings using standard assessment methods and field-measured date.
  • Prepare simple reports and recommendations for facility management and decision-makes.

TARGET AUDIENCE
  • Facility Technicians and Maintenance Personnel
  • Electrical and Mechanical Engineers
  • Energy Manager
  • Facility Manager/Supervisor
  • Consultant
