OVERVIEW
EAC STANDARD
This workshop will assist the programme owners and academic staff from engineering programmes to learn approaches in addressing the gaps and to align with the recently launched Engineering Programme Accreditation Standard 2024. It begins with the revision to the Standard qualifying requirements, changes in the programme outcome (PO) statements, complex (WP) engineering problem solving and complex (EA) engineering activities characteristics in relation to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the impacts of these changes to the academic curriculum. The second session introduces various best practices in conducting gap analysis to embrace the alignment in teaching, learning and assessment (TLA). The workshop ends with hands-on activities in which participants are required to undertake gap analysis and present their outcomes with questions and answers. Participants are encouraged to bring curriculum-related document for the hands-on session.

The workshop ends with hands-on activities in which participants are required to undertake gap analysis and present their outcomes with questions and answers. ABOUT THE TRAINERS
IR. DR. SITI HAWA HAMZAH
IR. DR. LIEW CHIA PAO
IR. DR CHE MAZNAH
- Ir. Dr. Siti Hawa is currently the IEM Vice President and ETAC Associate Director.
- She is a retired Professor in Civil and Structural Engineering from UiTM Shah Alam with 33 years of experience.
- She is the former Director of the Engineering Accreditation Department, BEM (2020-2022) and was the EAC Associate Director, BEM (2014-2020).
- She specializes in load bearing wall panel structures and engineering education.
- She made impactful contributions to Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Qatar on OBE and quality assurance; being a mentor to BAETE-IEB and an IEA-WA reviewer to HKIE (2021) and ECUK (2024).
- Dr. Siti published 15 books in structural engineering and more than 175 technical papers.
- She examined more than 75 Professional Engineer candidates.
IR. DR. LIEW CHIA PAO
- Ir. Dr. Liew is the Assistant Dean (Quality Assurance) of the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering at Xiamen University Malaysia.
- He also serves as the current ETAC Associate Director and was previously the EAC Associate Director from 2016 to 2020.
- He is an IEA-DA reviewer to ABEEK Korea (2024).
- Since 2012, he has been involved in the enhancement and accreditation of engineering degrees, engineering technology degrees, and engineering diploma programmes internationally and locally as head of delegations, advisor, external examiner, and speaker in some institutions of higher learning.
- He has over 13 years of teaching and academic experience and managing engineering programmes as well as 12 years of industry experience. His research interests include engineering education, wireless communication, and supercapacitor applications.
IR. DR CHE MAZNAH
- Ir. Dr. Che Maznah is a Professor in Civil Engineering Studies at UiTM Pulau Pinang and has more than 30 years of teaching and learning experience with research interests in engineering education and accreditation.
- She is the current EAC Associate Director (Civil) since 2020 after serving ETAC from 2018 until 2020.
- She is a Certified MQA APEL A & C panel evaluator & internal auditor for iQMS, UiTM, OBE & CDIO Master trainer.
- She is an IEA-SA reviewer to HKIE (2024) and involved with IABEE Indonesia (2022) review.
- Prof. Maznah is the Deputy Head for Engineering & Built Environment Cluster, National Council of Professors (2022-2024).
- She won AKRI2022 (Anugerah Khas YB Menteri Pengajian Tinggi) and currently, a committee member to AKRI2024, MOHE
